    Hood Jeans

    Hi People
A quick note to say that in todays post was a pair of Hood Kevlar jeans with knee armour, that fitted perfectly and without the filled nappy look!
When I ordered these by phone, the sales lady was really helpful and answered all my questions in good grace and also advised me well on which style suited best. I have not looked closely at other brands so can not make a comparison, however based on my experience with Hood I do not think I will feel the need to look elsewhere. As a bonus the pricing was excellent.
    Cheers
    Rob

I have a pair - practically made to measure by the time I had gone through all the options, They are very well made and reassuringly lined throughout with kevlar unlike Draggin Jeans and other which just have strategically placed kevlar. The kevlar is also surprisingly cooling on hot days (I wish).

    Re: Hood Jeans

I've been wearing these as my ride-to-work trousers (from about April to October) for about 3 years or so now. Still absolutely fine, so they seem to be made to last.

Tip: the Knox knee armour they supply is great. It's shaped and light weight, which helps a lot in this sort of clothing. Good value too.

The hip armour is almost certainly protective, but I found it a bit bulky. I bought some of the Hein Gericke hi-protec armour (HG part no. 11084503228, http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/p...oducts_id/5386), which is flexible rubber, and this works really well at the hips. The kevlar lining has a weave that's (just) open enough that you can get the hi-protec plastic studs through to hold it in place (between kevlar and outer fabric). Once in, you can leave it in place when washing (low temperature).

Hi-protec is too heavy and shapeless to work well at the knee, though.

As Icenian has posted, I rang them directly as they do not use a 3rd party.

    Re: Hood Jeans

Due to this thread i purchased a pair of Hood jeans. My order was processed by a very helpful lady.

Had em two months now, done a week round France and a week touring Ireland.

Really good fit and seem hard wearing. Look fine when in the pub

Top product from a good company
