    Vango Venture 500

GoOutdoors have what i think is a pretty good deal on for this tent...

Vango Venture 500 Family Dome Tent - from GO Outdoors.co.uk

I just been up there and i could stand up in it with my head just hitting the top (i'm just over 6feet) and it's very roomy, the back has 2 sleeping compartments but can be sed as one big one.

Packs down on the bike easy enough, i just bought one and went on the bike no problem, about the same size as a Khyam Biker.

    £59.99 can't argue with that i thought

Most probably m8 yeah, i'll try to erect it beforehand to make sure i know how to do it and all is where it should be and what not (weather permitting) but may as well take it along.

Derek, Tom is gonna ring you i said you wouldnt mind him having your number, i hope that is ok?

p.s. That airbed is spot on m8 got a 12v air pump from GoOutdoors todays and only takes about 6 minutes to inflate Champion!

I saw one today. its a good sized tent. Room enough for both you and the bike.

Pack size is bigger than I expected. Is the Khayam Biker really that big pack wise?

Yeah i thought that myself Boris, that you could probably fit the bike in the porch area.

I have had both the Biker and the Venture on my back seat and theres honestly hardly any difference, the venture is about 11kg so i sheavier than the biker (i think the biker is about 6-7kg) and the venture is a bit thicker but considering the size of the 2 i was impressed.

Here is a pic of the Vango Venture 500 next to the Khyam Biker...

Having just lifted both of them up i have to say the Khyam Biker is considerably lighter than the Vango and if the Vango is 11kg then i'd hazard a guess the Biker is infact about 5kg.

Looks good Craig. As you say, when on the bike pack size is more important than weight and being a vango is should be reasonably well made. I'm looking forward to seeing it erected when you get to Mortonhall.

What time are you planning to get here?

I've got the vango delta 350 and that weighs in at 7kg and could comfortably sleep three or if you were close freinds four, the porch area is also good for six panniers and all the wet gear of a couple of people

Quite fancied the look of that but the price has doubled.
