i would never send any one to this honda dealer.as sean says .when i got my new gl1800 a7 from a dealer in surrey .hastings honda dealer would not service this bike as it was not from his shop .and yes i did report js.gedge to honda uk reply from honda uk no comment .still waiting for a reply from js.gedge one year an two months i am still waiting
ah, the goldwing man........ I wont buy from gedges ever again. Trevor tried to have me over on the sale of a transalp. his staff - Andy, james, Mick, and gavin are stars. - Gavin left after 21 yrs to work at Destination Triumph. I bought my triumph tiger from destination triumph and was waiting for trevor to try and ban me from his shop, i would have been on the phone to trading standards, honda, yamaha, suzuki and triumph as i've bought all of their bikes in the last 4 yrs. I'd also go to the local papers.its a shame as i would have gone back had it not been for trying to make a quick £400.

Sean you're not too far way. Can't recommend J2Honda in Southampton enough. And Lee, their top mechanic is officially Honda's mechanic of the year sof 2008
They're friendly and won't rip you off and extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.
We've used them quite a few times and Mel Jordan gets his Africa Twin looked after there too.
hi sean yes gavin is a top guy and down to earh .i did hear he had left j.s gedge .i go to dobles now only 1hour ride from hastings i do hope one day he will lose his honda dealership in hastings i saved £2.500 on the new wing in 2007 will be geting a new one in 2009 blue i hope that if honda uk do one in blue.will he ban you we will have to wait and see .as you say he could not care less about his staff![]()
I have been a customer of J.S.Gedge for nearly 20 years. Not sure what you guys are talking about as I have always been served with proffessionalism and the best of manners. Surely it is good business sense and certainly in my interest to give preferential treatment to people who have bought their bikes from the shop![]()
Understand the cynasism and on reading the previous comments, too true I have joined purely to defend my local dealer. Have always felt it easier to complain than compliment so credit where credit due. One word of praise for every complaint I make gives me a sense of karma![]()
hi peter well i got my first bike in 1988 from j.s gedge. In 2003 i went for the big bike test with j.s gedge pasted first time and got the stx 1300 pan
.I have had 3 stx 1300 pans from j.s gedge in the last 5 years .IN the past when this dealer did not have any pan in stock he used my pan for a demo and got a sale on a new stx 1300.IN 2007 i went up to the ore dealer to get a price on a px for my stx 1300 pan for a 2007 goldwing with sat nav they gave me a price the same night i was on the net and found a honda dealer in surrey they had a red new gl1800a7 in stock better price by £2.500 so i went to this dealer .THE NEXT DAY I HAD A RUDE PHONE CALL FROM TREVER GEDGEWITH NO PROFFESSIONALISM AT ALL SAYING I WAS NOW BARD ALL BECAUSE I WENT TO A DEALER THAT GAVE A FAR BETTER DEAL
THAN HIM.AS J.S GEDGE IS A HONDA DEALER HE SHOULD BE MORE CAREFULL WHEN HE RANTS
DOWN THE PHONE .IN MY JOB I MEET A LOT OF PEOPLE WORD GETS A ROUND VERY FAST.

well, after having 18 warranty claims in 2 years the triumph had to go, Trevor offered me a blinding deal on a new Tenere and accessories, so I decided to buy (yeah, I Know.....) yesterday i changed the oil and filter and the bottom oil filter cover bolt stripped the thread (quite common on a couple of yams so i'm told) trevor told me to bring the bike in, HE(!) stripped half the bike engine, water pump and took off the casing and rethreaded the offending thread, then rebuild it, re filled the coolant and the engine oil and the total cost?? Free!!! fair play to him , I'm Quick enough to moan but quite impressed on this. cheers Sean
