SO , does anyone have any road reports for tomorrow (Sunday 7th March), has the snow cleared up yet, how is the grit.. .?
Weather looks good, (met office)does anyone fancy a meet up. My usual ride outs are deeside but would consider anywhere within 80 miles of aberdeen..

I was out today with Fiona's Beemer, Lossie to Keith, Rothiemay, Huntly, over the Glens of Foudland to Insch, over to Rhynie then over the Clashindarroch to the Cabrach, Dufftown, Craigellachie then home. It was a lovely day in the Moray bubble (microclimate) but in Aberdeenshire it was a lot colder, glad of the heated grips on the Beemer!
Amazing depth of snow over the Clashindarroch, between 4 and 5 feet channel cut though by the snow blower, and not just occasional drifts, that's the mean depth for miles! The roads off the A class are covered in sand and salt, I found it quite amusing the way the Beemer would step out and hang the tail coming out of corners! Good fun but not recommended for bikes with a, no crashbars, and b, with an inexperienced rider! I would also highlight the water, with the snow starting to melt it's running over the roads at a lot of places, I got a soaking today more than once due to deep water on the road.
I covered around 120 miles, took around 3hrs due to photo stops and road conditions, nice day out but a couple of soakings and cold temps made me happy to get home at teatime!
I've no plans to go out tomorrow but I'll see what Fiona says, might take the Beemer for a wee run! I'll check the post for your route later mate. The Moray bubble was nice today, forecasts same tomorrow so maybe a coastal run? We'll see, roll on Summer!
In regards Oban, I have pencilled in the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of April, weather permitting, if no then the following weekend, 10th and 11th. Oban divers camp site on the Saturday night.
