    Re: hampshire greenlaners

Hi, I'm based up in Hook, I do a little local trail riding and am often looking for someone to ride with (excuse that poor choice of words on a male dominated site!).......on the bike! Are you on an AT or XR?
There are some great lanes near here, you can do quite a few miles without bothering to many people.
Next time I'm off I'll try to remember to give you a shout. I mostly ride my XR400 (having learnt the AT can be a little cumbersum, particularly in the wet!).

I'm in Hampshire (Southampton) and ride a 600 TA. Never been off road on it yet and it would be great to join you folks but it would probably have to be easy dirt lanes for a virgin off roader like myself.

I live in Midhurst, am out on my bike at least twice a week around the Hants lanes, normally starting from around the Petersfield area.

I know the area very well so if you need guiding about or just want some company then post up or email me

toddhinds @ btinternet . com (remove spaces) and il email back my phone no's.

i either ride a xr600 or a gasgas 300 so it can be as technical or as easy as you like. And the pace will not be racing as you never know what you will meet around the corner..

I can show you round some lanes that will be suitable for you and the bike, however they are all over in the east of hants, what sort of tyres do you have fitted?

    oh dear....

you will really struggle on the lanes round here as there is a lot of chalk and flint.

I would suggest at least perilli mt21's or continental tkc 80's as a minimum if you want to do anysort of offroad through the winter. the tyres you have would be fine on some lanes through the summer but they wont find any grip at all in the wet.
