    Pyrenees

Just returned fron a trip to the Pyrenees where we did a two day Rally.
The rally was a navigational type event where you picked up different amounts of points for different checkpoints within a time limit.

We rode down through France and across the Spanish border in a couple of days. Most of the other riders made their way down in vans as they were riding smaller/competition bikes in the event.

Here we are waiting to board the o/night ferry at Portsmouth to LeHavre..

A typical French road, we clocked one as straight as this for 43kms !!!

and we passed through this place............

as we got into the Pyrenees the roads looked like this........

When we started the rally on saturday we were chuffed to find one of the first checkpoints.......

    the views were fantastic.......

and the trails went on and on........

Paul dropped his A/T at the top of this hill and John stuggled on his Alp, I told thm to use TKC 80's..........

this trail was pretty hairy coming down !!!

our lunch stop was very scenic.........

    the first checkpoint on Sunday.......

some of the villages were just up tracks in the middle of nowhere....

The rally ended with a meal and presentation on the evening, we were well chuffed to finish 7th, not bad considering we were the only team riding big bikes.

On the way home it was so hot in France that we took to jumping in rivers when ever we got the chance so that we could cool down....

I had a great time and next year I'd like to combine this with the Stella if time/money allows.

    cheers, Bob.
