    Stafford county showground bike show

Went down to the stafford county showground for the classic bike show and jumble. Phil (piguglyshandydrinker) went down with us. Had a great day out, and enjoyed it probably more than last years nec show.
Day didnt start out brill though. Bike was low on juice so had to fill up. The direction I was heading meant my local supermarket, which ive been boycotting since late last year. Helmet issue....Last year filled up, had full flip front helmet on, fully open. Wouldnt let me pay for my petrol wiithout helmet off.
Anyway had no real option yesterday, same problem but wouldnt let me have fuel without helmet off. When I went in to pay I asked if they ask the religeous minority in this country to remove the vail.....no coment.

Good run over to stafford. great show.

As we were getting ready to leave the heavens opened.....the exit to the field was getting rather muddy, and the guys on sportsbikes were struggling a bit. Both alps straight through but was praying I didnt fall off or slip in the mud. God that would have been embarassing......Particularly on a traily.
Called at a mates on the way back, and by this time my boots were begining to let water through and then I did it. Flooded road, 15mph and the bow wave was over my feet.......doh. My mates missis did us some very welcome soup, and then headed back to our respective abodes. Unfortunetly phils 2hr journey home was mostly in the rain. All home safe and sound though.
Took issue up with supermarket head office today, blah blah blah security...bike could be pinched etc. So had a go back and asked if id been wearing a thermal balaclarva would they ask for that to be removed, what about hoodies etc etc. Also pointed out I could go in as a hoody with a nicked car and put 50-60 quid of fuel in and drive off, and not the 12quid my bike took.
They were unrepentant so spoke to mcn to name and shame em.....They have lost best part of 2k of business a year as well as I used to do family shop there and fuel 2 family cars up.

Some really awesome old bikes there at show. Cannot wait till next years event.

    Paul
