    Nice one! That ford still gives me nightmares because I very nearly lost the front end of Maverick's bike while crossing it. Had a scary moment yesterday when I came round a bend on a back lane to find it covered in mud. Felt both wheels sliding but somehow it held on.

    As for crash bars - they're probably the best accessory you can buy for your bike. Mine's paid for itself 4 times already....

    The combination of crash bars and end weights saved the day. Apart from the fairing panel that would have been smashed (it was very slightly blemished by the crash bar pushing against it), the clutch lever would have broken and Vader's trip would have ended there and then (although I probably had a spare in my topbox actually).
    Crash bars saved at least £100 of damage, I'd say. But mainly they let us get on with the day - and that's the most important thing.
