    Found the limits...

    of Michelin Anakee's

I also learned that hard frost (-4°c) followed by rapid thaw (+4°c) makes mud tracks BLOODY SLIPPY!

Wonderful! Fab photos, I love those sort of ground conditions. It was that sort of thing that prompted my high front mudguard. Did your front wheel lock up?

Next step - Michelin T63 rear, Comp 4 front, run at 12 psi and never look back!

nope, no lock ups but I tried to stay as much as poss on the grassy bits, cos the wheels wanted to go in two different directions as soon as I strayed onto the mud. It was the first time I've ridden on a surface that slippy & muddy, I don't usually trail ride in the wet cos neither me or treaclefoot are equipped for it.

I stil mostly ride on the road & the anakees are superbly good at that, they allow me to ride the trails here in the dry, & I can't afford 2 sets of tyres, so that's fine. Now I know to stay off the mud...

The good thing about tires caked in mud like that is that grip, from then on, is constant
