I actually managed to find an hour or so to explore some of the woodland roads to the south of here & I've found some groovy looking trails for the summer (when It's drier) but I'm saving them for future ride reports, so you'll have to be content with the roady ones for now.

one of the many stones in memory of resistance fighters shot by the nazis. Note the ribbon under a stone on the ground. despite being the depths of winter & in the middle of nowhere, this stone is obviously visited regularly.
some of these memorials are VERY vivid & blunt. some are amazing & many are quite moving. I have even suffered jaw drop reading them before now. Simple ones such as this are fairly common & are all the recognition that these men wil ever have for having given their lives for their cause.
