    the welsh hills

I had a great day out yesterday in the Welsh hills with all the other forum bods. Mr Mabel took us on a great route and although it was a bit nippy I think most people enjoyed the ride.

Unfortunately Dave (fridge) had a bit of a mishap on his Transalp and took a tumble but he carried on for most of the ride and really hope it hasn't put him off bikes as he's not long passed his test.

    some pics.....................

we stopped in a picnic area for a chinwag/warm up

some of the bikes and bods

    Mr Mabel leading the run

    Dave S

Mabels mates, sorry I don't know their names

    Rolo

and some more, please put your names to the bikes

    My RD04 waiting patiently

Rolo's mate on his Triumph (we need to convert him )

    Shauni

Another Varadero, sorry I missed your name

many thanks to Jason and Sharon (Mr and Mrs Mabel) for organising the run and to all who attended.

great piccies Bob, it was an interesting day, good riding, some unwanted thrills thanks to Dave (Fridge) and Shauni - who also almost came off but was rescued by a passing child and a Breakdown.

    Challenging roads good riding

It was great day out I think I did nigh on 300 miles from door to door, and I was out from 9am till about 5:45pm. I was knackered when I got back.

Absolutely fantastic scenery, totally awesome. I never fail to be amazed by the welsh country side.

Discovered this road by accident last year, drove it in my VW camper, I found this a bit hair raising, especially at the Devils Staircase, I really want to do the road again this time on the TA. Looks a great day out, as soon as the weather improves I will have to trek out to Wales for a few days on those great roads.

Topping bit of road that I last rode on a pukka dirt bike years ago (along with a number of local off road routes!) It used to be used on the Milk Race round Britain cycle route. A real killer....
