    Alpslapper loses his cherry

Last minute decision to trail ride today and keep my promise to Alpslapper to show him some of the finely maintained Essex green lanes. He did extremely well, despite having trail tyres on with as much grip as a slippy slidy thing sliding on another slippy slidy thing.

Here he is on his first lane, thinking seriously about giving up the smoking. The steaming he carried on with every time he opened his jacket.

Here he is laying his head down for a little rest.

My bike standing up on it's own

I wasn't scared. I'd been to Wiltshire with Boboneleg. I now know I float.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Muddier than a muddy thing covered in mud down a muddy lane

I didn't know it was possible to have that much fun on a bike

Yen Powell was a star - he was as patient as a big patient thing on St. Patients day. This included having to make several walks back to rescue me when it all went a bit

Not only that but the guy knows all the local history too and it was interesting finding out about the origin of some of the tracks we were on.

A totally cracking day out. Big Big Thanks Yen Powell.

When I got home I positioned the bike sideways across the front door so when my youngest opened it she screamed She never seen me or a bike I own in such a state lol.
When I went indoors I was immediately told to keep walking straight through the house and out the back - as I, and I quote - ''smelled like a horse''

After a bath, and judicious use of a toothbrush to get the caked mud out of the back of my eyeballs, I had dinner with the family - and then his LIES came unstuck - Oh Yes. I was promised the pains wouldnt kick in till tuesday. Lies Lies and Damn Lies - I can't move a bloody muscle

Need to get proper tyres on the bike and some decent off roading kit. This was way too good to do only once

I say Old Bean - I'm Rospa'd don'tcha know . I wore it to specifically assist any air lift that may be required and to deflect any unwanted attention from YEN

(uurrrmmmmm .... point taken and to given YEN his dues - he didnt laugh at me )
