    Distance records

I did my first trip abroad on my AT a few weeks back. 890Km in 11hrs, then two days later, another 890Km (553miles). I have a Corbin seat which was OK, but then I am a cyclist too, so probably have an iron a*se

How much of an achievement is this, or am I still an AT RTW virgin ?

750 miles in a day: Chaomonix to Sussex in 18 hours including Calais-Dover Ferry. Not an Iron Butt I know, but I wasn't even planning on going home until Colmar (full of French who thought they were German and couldn't decide who they didn't like). Wierd place, all the signs in Germanic type despite being in France.

Apologies to all German/French XRV riders but the town was full of ****holes and I'm an easygoing guy.

I do the national rally each year - not a distance record as it works out about 700 miles door to door but it's 22 hours in the saddle. Cept this year of course, coz it's cancelled !!!

Did the Iron Butt a few years ago - dunno why, just did. A bit over a 1000 miles in 23 hours.

I use the honda OE replacement saddle - its never given me a minutes grief and its proven it's to offer all day comfort - at least to me.

1300k from Falls gap (150k north of Broken Hill) to Silver City (of mad max fame) 40k out to Ballarat, But on my XT630Z.. but it was pain full and hot. But i had no choice i was running from a dust storm and a bush fire...
next day 115k overnight ferry and 200k home.. so it got very easy!!

Did a SaddleSore a few weeks ago (Abingdon/Glasgow/Fort William/Inverness/Edinburgh/Abingdon) - 1100 miles in 21 hours. Bike ran great and I can't imagine many other bikes would have been any more comfortable (although comfortable isn't a phrase that came to mind too many times near the end of the trip!!).

400 miles, at a very slow pace, along the west coast of France, 8 hours in the saddle.

I use a budget Air hawk, which I must say is very good. I now keep it on all the time.
