Hi everyone.
Went for my first ride out on Saturday (i think i picked the right day).
I parked up,just off the Chitterne-Tilshead road, fueled up and ready for the off.
First lane was the by-way heading south from Breach hill, and passing to the west of the german village, carring on to the B 390.I then went east, for half a mile (on the B 390) before heading south again, on a by-way, over Maddington Down to the A 303, at Yarnbury Castle.
Across the 303 (you take your life in your hands),south again on an unclassified road until i got on the by-way running south west to Steeple Langford.
The next lane was a couple of miles east along the A 36 at Serrington, and headed, north back up to the A 303.I then headed north west, along a by-way,that hits the B 390 just before Chitterne.East along the B 390,for a mile then north again,on a by-way to the German village.
I skirted the village on the north side and took the by-way,east to Orcheston, crossing the A 360,then north on an unclassified road that turns in to a very rocky by-way,before joining the Westdown camp-Bustard inn Road.
The plain,to the north of the inn was closed for war games,so i returned
on the same tracks/by-ways to about a mile east of the German village, then north east to White Barrow/Tilshead.
Two miles of road work, and i was back at the carpark.
No other bikes seen all day,but about twenty 4x4,ten tanks and about one hundred soldiers.
78km covered in three hours, with only about seven/eight on the road.
Great day out,but i forgot the camera,so no photos,sorry.
Regards Andy C.(owner of a very dirty XR250).![]()
