    Jim
    Did you fit a new float needle to you troublesome carb? I had to ,and I also cleaned up the seat with a drill gently turned between my fingers, before setting my float height to 1mm below chamber joint , and then checking again with the clear tube with the damn thing running.
    Lots of U/S Kwaker quad owners have fitted Honda TRX 300 ( big red )carbs to cure this , weird thing is that Keihin is owned by Honda,but they don't fit that particular carb to their bike/quads , starting to smell a rat?
    Funny enough ,my daughters KE125 also has a carb prone to flooding,with the difference between petrol starvation and flooding only a mm or so.
    Cheers
    Lee

    Re: The Whisky Trail

    Hi Lee, I've not fixed this yet, I stripped them again on Sunday instead of taking the Beemer for a run, should have taken out Fiona's Beemer!
    I checked the float levels manually first, 17mm from float bottom to carb body, then dropped them a couple of mm, put them back on and the one that was running was dry, the right one started running fuel instead! Arghhhh! One last try, then the snow came on, turned on the fuel and petrol poured out the airbox!
    I hate that Kawasaki! It's back in the Scot-ads this week, if it doesn't sell I'll treat it to a couple of needles, £11.99 each for the carb kit. Be worth it if it's rideable!
    I just want my Varadero back on the road!
    I was up by Dallas Dhu today, heading for Logie to service an Aga, there's still an awful lot of snow up there! Spring's a long time comin yet!

    You aint kidding,the snow is so hard frozen here that our horses can walk on top of it without sinking in ( they arn't small horses ) . I have never seen snow so hard.
    It's going to be here for a while yet.
    Cheers

    Re: The Whisky Trail

    Just thought I'd rekindle this one as I've been doing a bit for Diageo and passed a few Distilleries this week. I've been down at the Imperial distillery this week including passing the DAILUAINE, also the Knockando distillery. I was also in past the Glenallachie distillery today;

    Also the Ben Rinnes distillery;

    It's been a great week up here in the Spey valley, weather's been great, around 20 degrees and nice sun the last few days. God's country, what more can I say?

    Re: The Whisky Trail

    A couple of distilleries I "bagged" on Sunday on my way back from Rannoch station.
    Blair Atholl Distillery - in Pitlochry & not Blair Atholl!? I don't get it either

    Edradour distillery is on the hill above Pitlochry. According to themselves, it's the smallest one in Scotland

    Re: The Whisky Trail

    Re-light this thread with a seasonal trip out in the snow

    Imperial distillery near Carron with Africajims 'ickle Beemer in shot along with my Alp. The actual plant is mothballed, which has Jim in tears, 'cos Imperial is his favourite tipple

    A couple of piccies from Dalluaine distillery which just up the road from the Imperial distillery.
