Whilst out working this afternoon I managed to "bag" another distillery.
Aultmore distillery in . . . . Aultmore (near Keith)
This was the road over to Aultmore from the coast
And this is a view from Cullen viaduct (bikes not allowed up there normally, but seeing as I'm on official bussiness)
All in all, another great day @ the office.
More tomorrow.

Managed to get out on the bike today before the Mountie. here a few pictures of some more local distilleries (as per the theme of this thread)
I know the Mounties already photo'd this one, but I thought I'd post the pic anyway. Nice and frosty road to this shelterd distillery near Rothes.
The Cardhu Distillery near Knockando. A better picture from the car park I think

The Tamdhu Distillery in Knockando. This one is right down on the side of the Spey. It has the Speyside Way running through it's grounds.
Cragganmore - this distillery was originally owned by the Ballidalloch estate.

Tormore - situated on the A95 Grantown on Spey road just south of Ballindalloch castle. So scenic is this distillery, with it's white washed houses along side the distillery, that it's known to be an accident black spot due to drivers slowing down to gorp in wonder.
The Glenlivet - I'm told by the Mountie that this was the first licensed distillery.

A nice view back to the distillery from the B9008. The white stuff on the hills is called snow, for those of southern extraction that don't get to see & experience it that often
Allt a Bhainne on the slopes of Ben Rinnes. Not an attractive looking building, but the surroundings are quite spectacular. Please note that we drive on the right up here during the winter - evens out the wear on the roads apparently

Mortlach Distillery in Dufftown
Glendullan - also in Dufftown
Balvenie - located just outside Dufftown, right behind the Glenfiddich distillery.

Craigellachie Distillery - in Craigellachie of course!
And finally for this report, a scenic shot of my @, at the Thomas Telford bridge over the Spey, near Craigellachie
The Mountie will be along shortly to add his latest pictures and slate my pronunciation and spelling.

I had no idea there was so many distilleries in such a small geographical areaI'm just amazed you manage to get from one to the other
What a brillant idea for a thread![]()
That lot put just 77 miles on the bike. Several that I'd done before are in the same area - Dufftown / Craigellachie / Rothes.
Disclaimer :- No alcohol was consumed before or during the production of this epic journey!
However, a couple of furry / feathered animals may die as a direct result of severe impact trauma during future journeys (the Mountie seems to attract them when he rides in front of me).
Of the 101 distilleries in Scotland, 43 are in Moray (all facts taken from the mouth of the Mountie - he does the reading / swatting up, I do writing and riding)
Looking forward to the longer days / better weather, when I can plan up an assault on the island distilleries - another Mountie fact - there are 6 distilleries on Isla. That'll be a nice weekend trip then.
Then there's Orkney to be visited.
Excellent summer of riding coming up I think![]()
