Just to prove that it's not all hardship, "in the wilds" , a few pics of the run we completed last saturday in Cebu, the second largest city. Organised by the V-Max club of Cebu, as one of the annual festival attractions, over 900 big bikes converged on the city from all directions in southern Philippines. The mayor provided free breakfast and lunch for all, the club, T-Shirts and Cert's of Completion, San Miguel Brewery 40 barrels of free beer and a huge firework display in the evening for everyone.
My club won the plaque for the most members attending for the third year in a row,(no doubt due to the promise of the free beer at night!)
Early start for the Twin and even earlier for the owner.
A motley crew at best, but some nice bikes and great blokes.
The lads with our own "support/fluid replenishment" truck, before setting off.

The rally did a 40km run through the city centre and suburbs, to raise money for charity and was ably assisted by hordes of marshalls at every intersection, from various bike clubs and our local constabulary.
The Plod, Philippine style.
Some of the less hairy bikes on display.
Some of the V-Max Club bikes (though who's the shopping bike at the front was noone owned up to!).

Bikes, Bikes and more Bikes.
Some of the charming people you can meet on bikes.
Found another one! Nice exhaust, made locally too. Only five Twins left in the Philippines I'm told.

Enjoying San Miguel's hospitality and fireworks in the evening, not a bike to be seen anywhere near the place either!

Journeyed the 4 hrs home on the monday morning in lashing rain, the Twin and the Tourances were in their element, though the extra weight on the rear, with the wife and luggage didn't hurt either!
All in all, a magic weekend, would recommend it in a heartbeat! Hope to see some of you over for it next year.
