    Trip to the moon

Hi Guys, I took a long weekend to pop down and see the very nice moon.
I picked up a early ferry friday morning with idea of taking two days and the slow roads down.
    Day 1
I headed down the coast towards Rouen, D roads all the way, ended up in Chartres which was around 250 miles for the day.

First camp of the day, very nice place on a river and around 7euros.

Day 2 Head towards Orleans D roads again, then across to Auxerre where moon lives, a great days run the D943 is a great road around 40 miles of open sweeping corners with next to no cars great! around 175 miles today.

Camped up in Auxerre for the night. meet moon for the night and went into town for a pizza.
Day 3 meet moon and 3 of his french mates, all nice chaps, one of them never stopped talking! I'm sure he was still chatting in his helmet while riding! Moon lead us out, and we ended up riding around 130 miles on some amazing roads, fast open sweepers, to small mountain passes, it was great riding with a local who knows all the best roads. being in france with the french we stopped for alot of coffee, and more chatting, ended up spending the whole day out, on some amazing roads.

    Day 4
A 5 hour blast down the n77 and A27 toll roads, very boring 5 hours at the same speed. but home by 18.00. around 400 miles today to include this side.
But a big thanks to Moon, and he is a lucking man, to have this in his back yard. Sure I will be down again.
    Insain.

    Nice escape from Blighty there!

    Vive le France:
    Quiet roads
    The Alps
    The Pyrenees

    SUNSHINE!

I could do with 2 weeks over there right now. The endless rain in Cornwall is doing my swede in. I'm thinking of building a boat and gathering animals

Chartres is a beautiful old town. Once saw a classical orchestra in the square as they projected images of stained glass windows onto the cathedral - magic.
