Righto, so we start with the obligatory meet at the Cornerhouse Cafe in Holmfirth with Airwolf travelling over from Bolton (about a 50 min ride) to meet up with me, Ralph, Dick and Boneheadedone.
Loving Airwolf's new and no expenses spared sat nav system...
So, off we go after bacon butties and a brew.
Heading out of Holmfirth and up Rotcher we take a single track up to Cartworth moor in beautiful sunshine and no wind. Fan-bloody-tastic.
We head around Yateholme reservoir and continue up over past Holme Moss and the mast to continue along the old "snow road" that runs parallel to the A628 towards Dunford Bridge.
Cutting off the A628 to run down an open byeway with deep ruts, the first off, of the day, was of course Airwolf! No pics unfortunately... yet...
Ruts over with, and to be fair, we all struggled, especially Dick with a broken rear shocker making his bike more like a pogo stick, we headed towards Penistone via Millhouse Green.
Ha ha, then up over the top and through a load of cow shee-ite stinking deep puddles and Boneheadedone and Ralph, sensing each others red mist... someone had to lose...
So, after wiping the stink from our goggles, it's off down what we call "the wrist breaker"... (Ralph bust his down this track - watch out Airwolf...!)
And, he's stuck in a rut!
Then we're all through...
Heading down "Tinkers Monument", it's back down into Holmfirth to wash the bikes and bid farwell.
Altogether a reet good ride out, albeit short and sweet and bonus, Airwolf buys a few of mi dead XR400 bits!!
good to meet you Airwolf. Looking forward to meeting up again and riding over your end around Dent.
