Just a leisurely hour`s local pottering on my new bike

This morning`s rain had washed the first salts from the roads and the admittedly weak sun had managed to mostly dry the surface....so it would have been rude to not go for a little spin on my new Triumph Scrambler
I`m sure that given typical UK weather the bike will actually get dirty at some point but I`m just not ready for such a trauma at the moment.

It was about 3pm by the time I set off,so I decided just to do a small local loop and take some photos.
Many people don`t realise just how rural and pleasant most of the Wirral is, and the countryside almost literally starts at the end of my road.....

This is exactly the sort of riding that I prefer.... and the sort that the Buell wasn`t really happy with....unlike the Triumph, which seems made for it.

I rode a few lanes and fancied a cuppa so thought I`d try knocking at a neighbour of mine.....

Well...it was Hesketh Lodge...on the edge of Hesketh Grange and the Lord Leverhulme Estate...so maybe I shouldn`t be surprised that nobody invited me in for a warm and a brew ...

Maybe I`ll have a bit more luck a bit further on................

Lovely as the Manor House is,there was no cuppa on offer.

    Awfully bad show....the boundahs....the cads.....and there`s me,on a BRITISH BIKE too

Ah well.....a few more lanes and then back home to polish the bike, put the central heating on and make my own cuppa.
Not before one more photo stop though...................sorry,can`t resist.
    It`s a luuuurve thing............

Nice ride but the thing that really gets me with the Triumph is those exhausts. Sorry like the bike apart from those and they sound great

I have a DA10SR ( BSA Super Rocket ) I started to restore it some years ago, then discovered it was a Rocket Gold Star clone, with a 1962 big valve DA10R engine in a 1961 frame. rather than the 1959 road rocket that the V5 said it was, complete with matching numbers for frame & engine ( which did not come in 'til the late 60s when they were no longer made, anyway I am wandering ).. I have been toying with converting it to A Rocket Gold Star Spitfire Scambler, for some time , and having the TA etc I have been riding and playing with them ) instead

any way ,thought I would dig out some more info for my files ( I now have a good look at what the bike should look like, as I started to collect the bits to put it back to a super rocket, then had a good look at an orginal in the National Motorcycle Museum, and instantly hated the look of it !!!)

anyway came across this picture, with guess who lurking in the back ground )

Really like the look of the scrambler, maybe one day I'll have one but the wife took soom convincing that I needed two bikes never mind three (plus I've got to give her enough time to forget about the Dominators

Nice one Tarka I had one last year and loved the bike, I sold it in the end as I would have taken it trail-riding and it was much too nice for that

Here's mine being delivered and my lovely Sportster going the other way
