    ICE ROAD XRVer's

Went out with Hudder's today, the master plan was to ride off road over Salter Fell, then up to Hawes , roman road and stalling busk.

There was a fair bit of ice about on the back road's, which made the first leg up to Slaidburn a little interesting.

Should have known when i 'slid' off the drive at 9 am

The veiw from Jeffry Hill, . . . we're headed for them thar hill's.

The single track tarmac out of Slaidburn got quite interesting.

    Then got even better.

    .

.Hudder's got a bit sideway's back down the hill, but managed to slide backward's onto the grass without laying down.

.Here he is messing about in the bushes.

    .Got up this bit.

.Just this bit to the first gate.

    Now onto the trail.

.At this point Hudder's felt compelled to pray for help. . . . . . .or was he letting some air out of the tyre's.

.At this point the only tricky bit of this trail was in veiw (far distance), a climb on loose rock's which was totally covered in snow, which we were unlikely to get up.
As it had already taken 2 hour's to get here, I made an executive decision to turn round and head for the cafe in Slaidburn for some grub and a well earned brew.

    .TKC chucking snow up.

    .Back on tarmac.

Off to the cafe and then home, . . . on tyres with about 5 psi just to keep it an interesting day.

that lookedlike a good day out mate a long time since i have ridden a bike in snow
the last was my sisters puch maxi i think in 1977, ideal thing no weight plenty of grip
and not too much power, was a better bet too ride to work than a peaky screaming RD yam in ice and snow

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
