Had a new rear put on recently.I normally go for TKCs but the nice man in the shop suggested i try a Metzeler Karoo...at nearly half the price i thought i`d give it a go.
Yesterday i took a trip to the hills and thought i`d post a few pics and my experience on the new Karoo.
I seem to remember the TKCs had bigger knobs on and were stiffer than the Metzeler. The knobs go well into the wall of the new tyre and give a confident feel on cornering on dry tarmac.
I got about 4,000 miles from the old TKC tyres and only time will tell about the durability of the Karoo.
Started off on stoney tarmac
Then onto some rougher stuff
Gripped well going up hill on the dry gravel.
Almost to the top of the hill.
On top of the world ma!
Seems like a decent tyre to me.Went through a few muddy patches and slid about but what tyre wouldn`t. Coming back home went round a few dusty roundabouts and it didn`t slide at all....maybe should have given it abit more welly.....Will do next time i go out.
