    After the fire

In January there was some pretty bad weather here in Spain and some electrical pylons got blown down causing a major hill fire.Once the fire brigade and water planes had done their job and put the flames out i had a ride up there to see the damage. Some photos of the scorched earth.

Access to mountain tracks is pretty ok.Private land is private land..watch out for chains strung across some openings.
Heres a ride report from last year in the south that may or may not interest you.

    Re: After the fire

Be careful as the law in Spain is becoming more and more strict about driving off the road. Use only tracks large enough for a car, never a footpath, and you're supposed to drive under 30 km/h in a maximum group of five bikes.

The SEPRONA (the Guardia Civil section for nature protection) are very good driving fast their bikes and Nissan Patrol, so trying to escape with your 200 kgs bike is the wrong option.

Be very careful too with the chains crossed in the beggining (or end) of some tracks, even if they're supposed to be public lands. The hunters put them.

Some years ago, I experienced myself being thrown down by a chain at the height of my chest. It was the end of the day, so little light, and the chain wasn't marked by any mean. Luckily I was driving slow, so no big pain for me or the bike, but it could have been worst...
