    End 2 End Road Trail

Today me and a couple mates entered the END 2 END ROAD TRIAL. This is a road trial that starts in wainhouse corner in north cornwall near bude. It finishes in Sennen Cove near Land's End. It consisted of 22 sections. All types of vehicles entered solo's, outfits, quads and C90's around 200 in total. The morning was an early start as it's 40 miles from home i was up at 0600 to load up and travel to the start. At 8am it was -2 degree's so quite nippy.

After all this we set off for the first stage

After all this we then did several stages which occasionally left me on my arse, purely to give other people a laugh.

We then had a short dinner break and met the wife at Blue Hills. This next few photo's may be of interest to anybody who's coming down to Gary and Lou's for the camping weekend in may as they were taken at blue hills and are literally on there door step.

We then met THE WIFE again at another stage in RAME CROSS

The afternoon went reasonably well but then 2 stages from the finish and 20 miles from home DISASTER STRUCK WHICH LED TO THIS.

Yes had to phone the wife to come and pick me up at Heamoor due to a snapped accelerator cable. So did not complete the competion which was very frustrating..

    Nice pics Jase .

Maybe for the next one you could fit new cables (Throttle, clutch) along side the fitted one's held in place by zipties...they are there just in case the same happens again.

The tyres look like Pirelli MT43's...good tyres IMHO.

Good luck for the next one.

    PHIL

Rear tyre is a Pirelli MT43 and the front is a MITAS. You have to use trials tyres for the events it's in the regulations. If you don't they won't allow you to ride, sometimes they will let you ride but you won't score any points. Depends on the club and how big the event is.

Just been and ordered 1 push cable and 1 pull cable, thats £40 gone, don't know if i want to spend another £40 just incase. You can buy emergency cable kits for £5-10 so you can make your own up, might be worth investing in one of them as a temporary measure

And just noticed my decompressor cable has a small chaff in it so that will have to be done shortly aswell

Just been told there's more photo's up on face book but i'm not a member of that, i have about 300 here now to look at

Hmmmmm may have look into a MT43 as the lanes you are on in the pics resemble many we do here and obviously good fr rocky stuff. How well do they wear on tarmac and when it changes to mud do they still provide grip??

The front tyre is unstable in mud and doesn't grip very well in turns but the back tyre is fine for laning. I use any offroad tyre normally an enduro on the front and trail on the rear seems to work, as for the competition everybody was at the same disadvantage grip wise, that said the ground is hard at the moment and not much mud around so it wasn't too bad. Wear wise i get 6-8months worth of use out of a rear and a bit longer on the front
