Looks like you guys had a great time, sorry couldn't hook up, maybe next time.
Spent the weekend with Francis Geoff and my lads.
My oldest boy has just gone away tonight to work abroad for a couple of months, so feeling a bit low at the moment.

Re: Glencoe May 09 - The Wet One

To be honest, I thought the wet Friday made an adventure out of it, I have a TA, thats what its for.
I left the house at 09:30 Friday morning, very aprehensive, (S%^ting myself)
It was blowing a hoolie and the rain had stopped blowing horizontally and was now being blown back up again.
I arived in Glasgow at 14:00 a wet weather master ( well not quite ), tourists, floods and some very rough roads along Loch Lomond. Once I got my head down and got stuck in (Balls on the tank) I was just happy to be eating up the miles on the TA. Spent a happy half hour in Frank Devine Honda, looking at bikes.while they paired my keys.
    Feet were a bit wet.
Met IanS at a Dunbarton petrol station and headed back to Glen Coe. The weather had improved a bit, but still cold, wet and windy.
We passed several cyclists on Ranoch moor, now they looked pissed off.

Had a realy good ride on Saturday afternoon, miles of twisty single track. Don't you just love TAs. especially silver ones.

Couple of good nights in the pub. Good company.

and a serene ride back to Skye in the sunshine.

The perfect weekend. Thanks to all.

    Must do this again,

The only bad bit was the howling that passed for a band on Sat eve.

Oh, and a tip if you are having a meal in the posh bit, The Bidean Lounge, of the Clachaig Inn. (Because of the howling next door)
If it is full, and the bar person says he can't take an order untill you have a table, point out through the window at the table on the patio and say,"We'll have that one then". He will groan a bit, but he made the rules.

He will be back before you know it, Lowflyer. A new adventure for him will remind him how lucky he is back Home.

I agree. On Sunday morning I was sat out in T shirt, sunglasses and even a sun hat to watch my son play cricket.

I think the further away from IanS you go the more likelihood there is of warm weather.

That's why we always hold the national meet the same weekend he goes off in his VW Camper
