Blimey mate, I thought your nipper had arrived a couple of weeks early when I read the subject line
Sounds like a fun day. I'm sure you're right about the small is beautiful thing too - I reckon I'd have more fun on a 250... what would you say are my chances of talking R into it..?

I had my first bit of off road on the Transalp today.I was perhaps a dit daft going on my own on a bike with road tyres but you have to have a go don't you.Just a mile or so of gravelly byway with a few muddy ruts thrown in.I didn't fall off but my legs ached afterwards, time for a lighter off roader I reckon

    Re: Finally popped me cherry!

What a warm day out it was. I found myself constantly seeking shadey spots when we stopped. The overgrown lanes were interesting especially as I was leading. I came out of the first lane soaking wet and covered in little white petals, looked like confetti.
The little KMX did itself proud, though I'm sure if Duncan had a whip he'd of used it on some of the uphill road sections.
I missed the off's so can't comment, but just two on the maiden outing isn't bad. Roll on the mud, wind and rain we normally get in Swaledale.

Top of the World, well Fremington Edge actually. Overlooking Reeth.

    Contemplating the route down.....

Goats water crossing, this is usually much deeper.

We made him do it a few times, this time I caught him with his foot down
