Ryka's Longest day meet
Having given James a baptism of fire by making him ride his bike into central London to see Soho in hospital, I then dragged him through sarf London and Croydon before seeing anything like the greenery he is used to in Norfolk (although I read recently that Croydon means "the place where wild saffron grows", which is exactly what you think when you ride through it - almost).
Sometime after that we acquired another rider, with a TLD sticker on his bike. It turned out to be axelrodi (it's the Latin name for his favourite fish - not favourite flavoured and served with chips, you understand, but favourite in terms of being pretty or swimmingly good or whatever it is that attracts grown men to fish
).
There were already several of the crowd at Ryka's when we arrived and more joined. As ever, great to meet the familiar and the new. We took some photos - a selection for you here:

And we all stood about chatting and admiring each other's bikes. It was a warm and pleasant evening and despite Ryka's closing we were quite happy.
I had to dash off about 8.30 due to a pressing engagement at home so I think I was the first to leave. Must do it again soon.
