My very nice boss let me have a day off today, and after inspecting my tyres I discovered there was far too much tred on them, so I decided I had to do something about it
After a quick phone call to MoM, the response from him was he was planning on washing his bike because it was covered in bugs. It didn't take too much effort to convince him that if he was going to wash his bike he'd better make sure it was worth washing first so we took a little trip into the Brecon Beacons National park.
We started at Bridgend and headed up into Nantymoel, where the men are men and the sheep are scared
We then headed up into the Bwlch, you sometimes forget what you have right on your doorstep, it takes us 10 minutes to get there and the views are great
Here's where we are heading, right down that twisty hairpin bend
A quick hello to the local talent then off we went
From there we nipped through Treherbet and picked up the Rhigos road, again a stunning road and so close
We had a little chat and decided that because I was going to need some fuel we would go through Rhigos village and into Glyneath, I refueled and then we headed up into the national park via Pontneddfechan. The roads and views in that area are stunning, there are mad sheep everywhere and today they took a particular liking to my bike
Just after this point there is the steepest and sharpest hairpin bend in the area
We then headed over to the A470 and had a little pit stop at RAC corner for a cup of tea and burger
We then headed over the Penderyn road, where they are redoing the surface of the road so there is gravel everywhere. I got to test my ABS after being acosted by a bloody sheep, missed it by inches but that'll teach me to pay attention to where I am riding rather than looking at the scenery.
We managed to stay out of the rain all day and had a great ride.
