from what i've read on the subject, the older 600's were said to be better off-road than the 650's but i've got no direct experience...

the interesting thing for me phil is the first bike i saw you with was a transalp and you've since been pretty much round the houses bikewise
and you've come back to the old favourite

Seems I must agree with you there It is a bike that just presses all the right buttons does it all with a fair amount of comfort, power and because its sitting on TKCs Im not bothered about speedin on the tarmac

yes they do seem to have a peculiar charm that i can't quite put my finger on.

i dont know if it that is because it suits my physical shape and size but i hear other riders say similar things about them and they are a lot bigger/heavier than me

i think honda may have just hit the nail on the head with this beguiling little bike either by design or sheer luck.

it just always seems to just get on with the job.....

I have found that the Transalp is something special. I can not say in what way but it just is.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I rode a TA before I got my AT and was very impressed with the bike for a tall git like me, then I rode a TA again some time after owning the AT and I think for legroom my AT spoils me, but there is not a lot in it.

Anyway in my opinion (FWIW), they are both damn good bikes indeed.
