Le Tour De Redondance - coming soon

    Hi All,

The silver lining on the cloud of my recent redundancy is the freedom of time (and a decent redundancy package) so im off before I get back into work and can never manage to get more than a week off again in the next 3 years.

Dubbed 'Le Tour de Redondance' after the infamous cycle race I shall be following for a short period, im off on Mon 29th and back Wednesday 15th after a few thousand miles and lots of nites in a tent.

Never spent this much time in a tent, never cooked on the go this much and never been on my own this long let alone without an english speaking soul to keep me company. Ah well, suck it and see - lifes an adventure!

Check out the route (as you will see ive got too much time on my hands).

Pack light and enjoy, if it takes you longer then it takes you longer. Stay off the main routes.

And remember take pictures and post on your return

I'm sure you will get some inside knowledge soon from the boys & girls in that part of the world.....

God I wish I was coming with you,

After Months of messing around trying to find the perfect job, I'v now settled on finding 'a job' if I'd focused on doing something I wanted for a couple of months then I'd be in a much better position now.

Congrats on deciding to go for a ride. Have a hell of a time, don't bother posting pics or posting descriptions of your ride, Save them for your book (I'v just read 'Vroom with a view' and if I'd known it was that easy to have fun and make money I wouldn't have bothered getting into IT in the first place!)

    Enjoy!!

Cheers guys. Alba - pack light is probably my biggest challenge though I'm looking at leaving the top box at home and using a tank bag instead, just the panniers with maybe a stuff bag on the rear.

Can't wait now, last 2 days of work and a week to prepare/ relax/ stress aarggg!

    Great book!!

Well done on the "Big Trip" Farky- the only upside of redundancy!
Enjoy it mate - as you say, it's probably a once in a lifetime opportunity.
    Ride safe.

Re: Le Tour De Redondance - coming soon

Im back!! And what a trip.... will post some pics etc soon but im off to the Peaks for the weekend with the wife and some mates.

Covered over 3300 miles over 16 days with a few days off here and there. Weather was great but the heat was hard work and the Alp runs very hot in 30+ degree temps, my feet started to swell up sitting beside the engine so long. Overall the Alp was craicin, cant fault it a bit.

Im posting onto a dotmac site of you want to look before I get back....
