Off to Ireland

Just booked a week in Ireland for three couples. Going on the 27th June. Booked a four bed cottage in County Clare by Lough Derg, £255.00 per couple including return high speed ferry

How good's that?

We're using this as a base then doing some day tours of the south. Not my first trip to Ireland, but first time on a bike and without fishing tackle.

The @ is staying home for this trip, i'm using a Triumph Trophy 900 i've just bought complete with OE luggage. Other bikes...V-strom 1000 and Sprint ST.

Pics will follow on return.

Any suggestions on places to see let me know.

Re: Off to Ireland

That seems a good price, is it by tour operator or have you booked it yourself? Where are you sailing from please?

Either way, have a good time, stay safe.

Re: Off to Ireland

I'm sailing Holyhead to Dun Laoghhaire by Stena HSS high speed ferry (2 hours).
Booked through www.imagineireland.com really helpful and a good, easy to trawl website.
I've booked property 7893 in Mountshannon.
I can almost taste the Guiness

Two of my favourite roads, the Gap of Dunloe (part of the Ring of Kerry), and Connors Pass down on the Dingle Peninsula. Both mountain passes, the former having been created by a glacier and the latter parts of it were carved into a cliff face. The most amazing views and demanding conditions

My mate (V-Strom) keeps sending me texts about these places. We intend to do both of these areas. Maybe we can drop the wives off at an interesting place and do a good ride solo, would be nice

Problem, we've only one week and we've allready planned a fortnights riding

Re: Off to Ireland

Honestly, these places are a must do! Drop the ladies in Dingle or Killarney dependant on which one you are doing. You have to go to the ice-cream place in Killarney too. I played the girl behind the counter up something rotten!
