    Kyle of Lochalsh

Well, last Sunday morning, got a phone call from Steve T --

    Wot you doing ?-----
    Nuffing---
Right call round for you at 9.30
    Where we going ?
    West

And so we ended up at Kyle of Lochalsh, went on to Plockton, missed the Beallach due to low cloud cover and returned via Torridon.

On the old road above Eillen Donan

Makes a change from suicidal sheep

    Looking across at Rattigan

And looking up ( and down ) towards the castle. The track leading to the mast looks do - able. Next time when we are both on AT's

And finally across the loch at Plockton after a coffee.

Thanks for the company Steve, good craic.
Sorry Rick, tried texting you to hook up at the last minute , maybe next time, this wee blast was spur of the moment -- always the best kind.

Steve -- decided to omit your pi****g in the bushes due to our younger contingent of xrv'rs. Not a pretty sight -- a leather clad male baring his all to the four corners of the planet

    PHEW.

Thought for a minute there my insywinsyteenyweeny was going to be on show for all to giggle @ .

Great run out. Didn't take the @ cos I'd worn the rear tyre down to below the min line on Saturday, out running through the hills with Africajim & Largewayround. Only to find Lowflyer setting off from home with less tread on his rear tyre than I had on my @'s tyre .

Needless to say, towards the end of the ride, Lowflyer was having to a be more cautious round the bends.
"OK", I said, "you lead at a pace that'll get you home without totalling the rear tyre before we get there."

So what does he do - - Yep, takes off like a bat out of hell (his normal pace in other words ), only slowing slightly more than normal for corners .

Great weather, great craik, and a little plan formed for a trip in late July, maybe?????

    Right,

This is the craic --- Steve and I are planning to go down sarf late July sometime for a weekend. The plan is to go to " Heartbeat " country, have a pint in the " Aidensfield Arms " and go over to the other side and take in those two passes -- Hardnott and the other one which I can't remember

I will post this in the appropriate section to glean some info from you guys once we get a firm date worked out.

We will, of course, welcome any of you southerners to tag along
and keep us pointed in the right direction.

    Cheers

Looks like a good run guys, would have been fun.

New tyres on this weekend coming in prep for the run to Europe so I'm not planning too much miles this week

I'm off until 19/07/09 but will be back home after that, wouldn't mind a run south, if I'm invited? Is it a two day event or a long weekend? Not sure if I can get time off if so

Any how, glad you had a dry run on Sunday, weather wasn't too trick.

No worries, glad to see you had a nice day,
Actually, I have dislocated my little finger, (ooouuuch!!!) right hand, it catches everything, haven't been on the bike for 2 weeks.

Interested in run down south, but I have a lot on so need to decide closer to the time.

OOOeerrr, looks like the road from the Kylehea ferry.

Actually, not being funny, quite fancy a look at MEDIOBOGDUM, the roman fort.

    I'll get my coat.

That'll be because you've been trying to lift a heavy tea cup whilst maintaining the correct angle of dangle with your extended pinky, that'll be!
