Re: 3 weeks, & 3Days, 11 Countries and 4761 Miles !!!

I think there maybe a slight problem with the Unimogs they apparently do about 10mpg !!!!!!!!

I will ride a full ride report but one great story from this trip. I was going down the Bosnia/Serbia border and i came to a small not very pretty industrial town, the name escapes me.

Anyway i am on the traffic lights with 2 cars in front of me and a bar to my right. Suddenly about 7 or 8 men come out of the bar carrying another man. I was looking at the man being carried and wondering what they were doing?

They put the man down in the middle of the street and then i realised that this looked a bit serious !!!! the men who had been carrying him were all armed with Kalashnikovs !!!! they pointed the guns at the man lying in the street for about 1 minute then they smiled and let al the guns off in to the air !!!!!! the noise was incredible. This is in the main high street !!!!

Apparently it was a birthday celebration.

I was

1 Crapping myself

2 Thinking you do not see that in Guildford High Street !!!!!

Re: 3 weeks, & 3Days, 11 Countries and 4761 Miles !!!

I need to get a move on and write the ride report.

The bike ran like a dream all the way down and back ZERO problems. Bought the bike with 2100 miles on the clock in May 2008 now up to 18,400 !!!!

Averaged 60mpg and i really like the Michelin Pilot Road tyres, suit this bike well on the tarmac

I calculated that i was away for 24 days it costs me about 10 pounds a day to live at home so 240 pounds. I spent a total of 850 pounds.

So about 600 pounds in reality extra over day to day living.

I tell you something, in relation to what i have seen, and the experience it is a MEGA BARGAIN.

The way to see Europe or anywhere else on the cheap is very simple. Bike that is good on Fuel and comfy, Camping, and boil in the bag foods.

Solves the expenses of FUEL, ACCCOMADATION and FOOD

Highlight of the Trip

Slovenia,Croatia,Bosnia,Montenegro and Albania

Slovenia,Croatia and Bosnia are incredibly beautiful and unspoilt countries. Montenegro is breathtakingly beautiful and Albania has real charachter, a very positive feel to this country moving forward and fast, i really liked it.

Also wait for it .................................................. .............

Albania had the best roads of the whole trip and that includes southern Germany and France. All brand new surface
