Well that was a tadge more interesting than the usual rode up hill and down dale stuff - actually read that to the end, only because I thought you might be rescued by a 6 foot flame haired amazon that just happened to be in the area training for the local Worlds Strongest Woman contest.

Glad your in one piece - you want to send that to "Womans Own" might get a few bob.

    Regards

A top report and your sense of humour intact.I ride out alone and have got into the odd scrape or two but it's allways worthwile as far as i'm concerned.I can recommend a quality pair of moto-x or enduro boots as they do stop your feet getting crushed and you can undo the buckles and slide your feet out.You can then practice your wet sock dance......

A lot of petrol caps leak, it is for the breather, otherwise the tank would implode.
It is not nice having a bike on top of you. Get well soon, you are meant to be on top of the bike.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Pretty slim really from a small tumble. Petrol can piss out all over a hot engine and exhaust and just evaporate on contact. As long as there isn't a naked flame it probably won't go up. The stuff that is really dangerous on a hot exhaust is brake fluid as that does burst into flame quite readily - which then sets the leaking petrol off. Prolonged contact with petrol is very effective at removing skin and gives nasty painful chemical burns.

Ah, good to hear about the petrol, I suspected that after accidentally splashing petrol over the bike several times in the past and nothing happened, but when yer stuck under the damn thing the mind starts playing tricks.

Yeti, that's a hilarious cartoon, in a horrifying sorta of way

Dunno what all the fuss is about!!!!

Nice report though, and even though you were in mortal danger and at the mercy of the crows, it was nice to see you managed to get a few pics too!

Re: Easy pootle turns to hell

    Bravo!
And lived to tell the tale.
Puts my recent easy-peasie 5.5k mile jaunt on a 25 year old Gpz900 into some sort of perspective ... like you, I only managed to topple over the once, but fortunately for me, right outside a helpful Frenchman's house, so all was well.
But even with help instantly on the way, the sight of essance sans plumb gushing out of the tank, and sloshing all over the hot bits, ain't half alarming!
Scabs have just about gone by now, but I suspect the scars will remain as a cautionary reminder ...
    Respect!
