    school run

hardly ride report materiel this, but I like the pics I got...

well N° 1 wanted me to run her into shcool (20k) on the bike this morning, despite the damp mist . It wasn't cold at all so fine. I didn't get any pics of the way in cos by the time she'd got togged up we were cutting it pretty fine & anyway the main road runs along the valley floor so visibility was less than 100m. This was only her 2nd go on the bike & twice as far as the first one, first time in any sort of traffic too. She was fine, & when I dropped her off she said "I liked the roundabout"

Anyway, having put her gear in the cases I rode home via the top of the valley on the east side in an attempt to get out of the mist (& all the cretinous cagers with their rear fog lights on...)

it's only a small back road that runs along the top, through Cravant & St bris le vineux but the views were great, the whole Yonne valley filled with mist, & me riding along above it

the pics were taken in the vinyards of the "cotes d'Auxerre" above Vincelles & Bailly about 08:30 this morning.

This one was on the valley floor & you can just about make out the trees starting to change colour

I played with the brightness on this one, which makes the picture less good in my opinion, but you can't make the bike out in the original..

so I took another from lower down, this one's not been doctored

    looking east

    looking west over the valley

looking south (the way I came)

a bit further along looking south & east

    south

    south west

    nearly north ('bout NNW probably)

Great run Moon. I see your within range of the Jura there. Always fancied a few days visiting watch museums (sad I know). Always just passing through to the Alps.

    Nice looking pictures.
The bike definitely blends into the background in the original undoctored view.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Yep, spent a week end in te Jura not so long ago

    an alp in the jura

watches, glasses & pipes, all over the place. My parents in law are only 30 minutes from the foothills of the Jura so if you're down that way gi'us a shout...
