Normandy: Four down in first 24 hours
Only one injury though.
And, actually, we're all having great fun.
PDSquire, Jacqueslemac and Meesh hit a tailback at Guildford on the way down, to find a biker having dropped their bike and being helped up by some cage drivers. It was Dr Law. What an introduction.
In France on the way to Cormolain, she had to brake to avoid a tractor and had a three-way slip on the tractor's sludge. She managed to right the bike each time, but went down on the fourth wobble, arriving here with a nice slide of mud down her trousers and only half a clutch lever.
That was two downs, but only one person.
The grass driveway was very wet and slippery and we have all skidded about on it. When leaving for a rideout today, Jem applied the brakes to stop at the end and went down with her Transalp trapping her foot - our only injury so far.
Then, after looking at some WWII battlements
then good lady wife (Kate) decided to climb on the back of my bike without me knowing she was about to. She put her weight on the rear footpeg and the bike, with me on it and her nearly on it, went down in the car park - much to amusement of the smug couple in the camper van.
So that's four downs, involving four people. The others have tomorrow to catch up
.
We had a cracking day, boiling in the sunshine. Are about to cook a huge meal. Beers and wine are already flowing.
