wee three day blast into haggis land

Sooooooo where to start, after missing out on the national it was to much to take so me and a mate decided to cram as much into three days as we could

we were hoping to slip across the border un noticed but the border guard was right on the case tough looking caracter to

the ensueing fight wasnt pretty ( think the fight scene from austin powers)

but we won him over and got an escort via some great roads to the green welly

twas nice to see some other heavy metal around

a couple of lightly loaded BMWs

from this point we left jack as he was on a hot date and headed up to the campsite at fort william glen nevis, a stunning location

very posh toilet and shower block

so after pitching the tents we went to the onsite restaraunt, bloody good food chased up by a few rusty nails then kip ready for the big highlands ride the next day

    more in a wee while

Re: wee three day blast into haggis land

i was warned about the temp dropping over night but wasnt expecting -4 but didnt freeze due to the rust nails

so clold it was like the ice was floating in the air

so after a breakfast of sausage n beans coffee we got ourselves ready for a great days riding in the highlands
the one thing i love about scotland is if you get the weather, the colours that come out in the sun are simply stunning

first quick stop was to pay respects at the comando memorial, you've seen it before bit its always nice to see again

dean really took to this trip and scotland totally got under his skin

the A82 really is a stunning road that seems to have everything

    amzing roads and sights.

right SWMBOs giving me that look
so i shall give you the next installment tomorrow

    Looking good so far.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Looking good. you are right about the A82, fantastic road and if you like that then do the loop round the A832 just off A835 up near Ullapool as that is a fantastic run. It's about 130 miles and takes in coast roads as well as mountains...absolutely fantastic that run.

    Waiting for more
874 Miles in one day...need a bit of a rest first!

Re: wee three day blast into haggis land

This certainly brings back memories! Looks like you had a great time, very jealous (except maybe of the freezing temperature, the night at Jellies is still etched in to my brain)!

Would love to go back to the Highlands next year, but we also want to do Eastern Europe, and off-road courses, and the Longest Day, and so much more...

    I need more days off...

'07 KTM 990 Adventure (Crash Bars, Scottoilter, 16t front sprocket, Throttle Cam. Colour: Black & Grey)
    '93 DR800 BIG (Fully farkled!)

    Gone but not forgotten:
'04 Tiger (MRA-Vario screen, Crash bars, K&N Airfilter, dual headlamp upgrade. Colour: orange, 'cause I'm Dutch, innit!)
    '93 ZZR600

I'm on the Safe House List! Garage and minor toolkit available...
