A quick blast round my neck of the woods!

Believe it or not, the sun shone on the lake district today! As this is a once monthly occurance, I thought I'd go for a quick spin.
It's not good for bikes to stand still for too long you know...

From Waterhead I went down the Langdale valley, which unfortunately has three sections of roadworks in about 2 miles.

Had a quick stop at the new dungeon ghyll...

The place was absolutely deserted, nice. Like I said before its not this nice very often, but when the sun shine's (ie: not raining) its spectacular...

I had a quick photo pit-stop right at the end of the Langdale valley. The photo above is looking down into Mickeldon.
After retracing my steps back into the valley, I ended up coming down Red bank into the back of Grasmere When I saw this...

All the lakes were like mirrors, dead calm. Through the little village of Grasmere, which amazingly was also empty, I ended up back home just in time for the sunset.

''I love it when a plan comes together!''

Now I realise this was probably the shortest ride of all the ride-reports, but I'm bored, I have a new camera and I'm online.
    The sunstroke does'nt help matters.

    Thank you for watching!

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Lovely

I also took advantage of the weather, but my scenery was nowhere near as impressive as yours. The 650 alps are lovely bikes

Thanks for the replies guys, glad you liked the pics!

Winter seems to be the best time to be here. Quiet roads & crisp winter days. Just make sure you miss the flooding!

    Cheers!

PS: I found another one I thought you guys might like, its just a panorama of that end of the valley:

    Very Nice!

I really love reading ride reports like this, showing pictures from places I never visited.

Great pictures! You have put your new camera in to good use!
    Nice bike!
    Awsome scenery too!

I'm looking out of my office window, and notice that it's falling a combination of snow and rain, and it's 2 degrees celcius

I wish I had surroundings like that!!!

    Thanks for sharing!
