During the 10 days we also picked up a few extra people for a day or two
We had a visit from a lovely German Policeman who is a member of the German Gs forum. He offered to take us for a ride through the local roads but unfortunately his work got in the way. I don't have a photo of that but I know that others do
We were joined by Eamonn from this site, not sure of his user name. He spent a day with us in Maine
We also adopted a UKGser for a day, (coincidence) and a cyclist called Mark (or was it Alan)
We were very fortunate to meet Lord Vaders family. They were some of the most generous people you could hope to meet
Johnny and Petra
LV's Mum with Jaimee-Lee
Little Kim
That child had the most amazing balance
and LV's Dad and cousin Yana (not sure of the spelling) I don't have photos for these two

So our journey started Saturday, J with Caitie M as Pillion and myself met with MoM outside the house. We had arranged to meet at the garage but the GSa wouldn't start. It had a flat battery, with a bit of swearing and stomping around Jay managed to sweet talk his ride and she brummed into life.
We left Bridgend and headed for Basildon to meet the Vaders.
We arrived just after lunchtime and were treated to a BBQ at the Chads where Lady Vader showed us the youtube video posted in the first post here. This was to set the tone for the whole holiday
We settled for an early night, in bed by 930pm, unfortunately no-one was in the mood for sleeping with excitement getting the better of us, at 230 we were up and pacing the halls and ready to leave for Folkstone by 330am
We arrived at the Tunnel Crossing to meet Geoff
We arrived in Calais and set off for Bacharach in Germany
We travelled mainly on the motorways, which meant we made good progress. France was brief
Belgium was hazardous with nutty drivers and huge potholes and then we arrived in Germany where the scenery and roads improved greatly. It had been a cold and wet start to the holiday, with temperatures below 10 degrees and intermittent rain. It didn't dampen our spirits however, we were looking forward to getting to our first camp-site and meeting our fellow travellers.
