Mike would you be better off with a jet ski or an Alvis Stalwart. These KTM's dont seem to be able to handle the depth of water you dive into.

You need to get a girls bike (as you call them) Mike, you're gonna put your back out pulling that beast from the bogs

Ive thought about it Bob but they just dont suit me. All feel too small. Ive been on a few enduros and just think Id break them in no time. And they feel far too small. The closest to what I need is a DRZ, but this still feels small, and wont suit my needs of being able to travel distance (some may disagree..so I'll rephrase, travel distance on a motorway in comfort 2 up with luggage). So whilst I can still pick the beast up Ill stick with big bikes. Not ideal for what I do.........someone could make a fortune designing a long distance bike thats light and decent to play in the mud whilst being able to accomodate 2 with luggage.

Need to grow some balls and enter the bogs at more pace...........momentum is your friend and all that.

And yes, my back is hurting this week! Not sure why.

Last time I thought momentum was my friend I ended up wrapped around a fence post covered in barbed wire!

A ktm 690 aint far off what you need....but never underestimate a small Enduro they are very strong and loads of FUN Fun FUn..and as for entering Bogs/mud holes fast..thats for Angels..as the first thing you learn is to fly straight over the bars..yep been there on salisbury plain Tank pools..2ft deep mud stops everything fast.

What we really need is a lightweight electric winch..or how about a "Tirfor winch" pulls tree`s out fine..

I hate mud pools as the bike gets so dirty you find mud were it aint supposed to be...keep up the crazy stuff...

Youre not wrong. Went to get my tools from under the seat last night to strip the bike down (got a new speedo cable to fit, new pads etc etc). And cant get the seat off. Something wrong with the lock, or something blocking something. Was OK before the bog! Lifted the seat up a bit and its a right messy state underneath. Only got 1 key for the bike so didnt want to force it in the lock incase it broke. So got wife going for a new key cutting today, and will see if anything "loosens" up after the planned bashing in the Yorkshire Dales at the weekend.
