    Motorcycle riding techniques on-line

    http://www.datacraftsystems.co.uk/te...eft/index.html

This site covers a lot of advanced riding information, with each page covering a specific point, almost like bikesafe on-line.

    I've seen this before.

    Well worth a good read.

Thanks. I'd lost the link to it.

    This is very good.

Interesting - this guy shares my view on which foot to use to support when stopped. I have a debate with nearly every other advanced rider and ALL the assessors that have tested me, - on this very subject.

A very worthwhile read and slightly easier on the brain than roadcraft.
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

a good technique for detecting the movement of a vehicle at t junction that has stopped.. looked.. then not seen you and pulls out is to watch the wheels, rather than the front of the vehicle fro movement, much easier to see...

Putting the right foot down might be acceptable on bikes with linked brakes, but can be lethal in slippery conditions on a bike with ordinary brakes. Though if you come to a halt before putting either foot down, the problem is solved.

For a hill start, the "Hendon Shuffle" is difficult to avoid anyway.

what do you guys think about what it says about having 2 fingers on the front brake? I personally never do it , I worry about unintentional application of the brake due to unseen potholes or bumps or something? Also maybe the brain will make you reflexively (is that a word??!!) go for the front brake when you shouldnt and if your fingers are on it its too late.

Trouble with me is it's built in now, after years of riding motocross it was always two on the brake and two on the clutch.
Tried to get out of the habit but think it's to late..

Bookmarked! Thanks, good reading for those of us coming back to bikes after a (long) break. Helps scrub some of the rust off those memories.

Was it really that long ago?
