    Longest non stop ride.

Hi Guys I just thought I'd start a little thread for those of you that have shown true endurance on the back of your bikes.

Last year whilst on my road trip around Europe it was cut short due to a family illness so I rode 940 miles from the foots of Andorra to my house in the uk in under 21 hours (including ferry crossing time) on my Africa Twin. The only time I stopped was for petrol as I was against the clock for the last ferry. Sadly each time I stopped my tomtom told me I wasn't going to make it so had to make the time up. The bike was fantastic (but don't need to tell you that), and was the best journey I've had, which included a jammy police escort through a huge tail back on a french motorway. A near death experience coming face to face with dustbins blowing around on the road and escaping death at the hands of a giant (he was even bigger than Chad) in a service station who wasn't too please with me flicking him the bird after nearly knocking me of the bike. That aside everything turned out well apart from my poor ar*e but I won't go into that.

Do post your stories. They'll be good to hear.

Longest literally non-stop wasn't recently but when I was student - I used to regularly ride Plymouth to/from home in shropshire literally non-stop. 235miles or so on a BMW r45 and I still hadn't gone on reserve.

2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.

1100 km, Bucharest - Vienna in about 14 hours. the heroic part comes from riding a 250cc Yamaha DragStar at that time...

1,000 miles from Austria back to the UK in 28 hours. It was an aircooled flat-twin but had four wheels.

I've decided that long distances like that are not for me any more.

"Orange van"! (I don't tend to name any of them.) I sold it in May after nine years of ownership. It was equipped and decorated like a narrow boat inside.
