Beginner advice

There is no chance of me taking the dero off road so what should I be looking at for pure off road fun, I have very limited experience (none) does engine size play a big difference in learning the basics I was thinking along the lines of a 350 or 500 road legal off road toy
recommendations please

Re: Beginner advice

Get an old DR350 or XR250 for cheapness and less worry when you drop it again and again.

2000 XRV750 (NO 3), I think I'm getting the hang of them now, must fit the centrestand before the back tyre wears out. Damn, the driveshaft bearing wore out first!

Re: Beginner advice

Truthfully?

OK then, here goes.......

the only thing that really matters is cheap enough so that when you throw it on the ground, down a hill or into a river you are still laughing, saying thank doG i didn't try to hang on.

ideally it will be sturdy, so it dont break, and cheap to fix when it does, easy enough to lift, and drain, in the field as it were.

make sure you can start it in any conditions, kick or e dont matter if its easy - my e start only ttr was a breeze to bump start even on mud

if you have choices, make sure you get 21 front and 18 rear wheels, so you can get good tyres, and use uhd tubes.

Any thing else is just cherries .

.

sorry, I had to read that a couple of times before I could work it out, I couldn't figure out why you need so many front & rear wheels...

To cater for punctures, of course.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Re: Beginner advice

Get yourself an MT350 they are great fun off road and Spares should be easy for you to get hold of.
