I wear kneepads (held on with velcro) and motocross boots. I have seen specialist kneebraces which stop the knee being twisted sideways, usually worn by people who have had bad accidents previously and can't afford further injury (very expensive, custom made I think).
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Yep. Similar here: kneepads/shin protectors and nice sturdy boots.

MX boots + throw away the crappy "knee protectors" in both my trousers and use a pair of these instead (they cover the whole knee cap and all of my shin above the top of my mx boots). And after you first put them on, you dont even notice they are there

EVS knee/shin guards - you can probably find them on ebay
