TFL Survey - Motorbikes in the London Bus Lanes

    Hi All,

If any of you are riding in London then please fill in this out survey for TFL so that it may continue after the trial (if you agree with it of course )

Apparently a lot of the cyclists are very opposed to the scheme and were complaining even before the trial began so it's important that the feedback is balanced i.e. not only from cyclists who oppose it.

Personally, as a frequent user of London roads on both a bicycle and motorbike (and also by car), I support the scheme. I haven't noticed any difference as a driver or cyclist since the trial began and it saves me a lot of time when I'm on the motorbike.

    Cheers,
    Stef

P.S. Sorry if this has already been posted.

Just filled it out with a comment as a Bus driver, about causing less hold ups.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I have! Including but not limited to Jamaica Road. Previously any tit on a 125 mock-roadbike would hammer along at 50 to 60 imperilling cyclists and pedestrians. Now there are more sensible heads-in-helmets in the bus lane such insanity has stopped. It makes for a much, much less worrying jaunt to the pub for me.

Seriously though, idiot riders are always going to use the bus lane and are an appalling danger. I am more bothered as a cyclist than as a motorcyclist that this initiative should become permanent.

    Thanks for the tip, Slanty.

The problem everywhere is the same 1 idiot throttle to the stop moped rider is classed a a motorcylist and therefore motorcyclists are a danger.
Strange though how a boy racer in his car does not brand all car drivers as the A@@sholes they are.

Re: TFL Survey - Motorbikes in the London Bus Lanes

I use either my motorbike and bicycle for the commute into London, and this change has made my journey a *lot* safer as a motorcyclist as I no longer need to filter up the outside of traffic.

As a cyclist, I don't feel it's made much, if any difference.

I still remember when I read a pamphlet from the LCC about their concerns
over this trial. The concerns over motorbikes and bikes together was fair enough and I could understand where they were coming from, but then there was a load of tosh about how noisy bikes were and bringing this trial in would make London noisier. They're still using this line today:
    http://www.lcc.org.uk/index.asp?PageID=1245
"...its effect on noise and air pollution and on enjoyment of the street"

They should be ashamed of themselves. What next? Are motorbikes too brightly coloured??

Done it too - dont cycle there though, but far from Norfolk!

Commute to the London office is much better though - only thing is that I now use Red routes where as I used to use mainly quiet borough roads and take my time - its quicker on the red as they are more direct but id prefer to use borough bus lanes than red route bus lanes - cant please them all eh?
TA700 2010 - Givi full set, Centre Stand, Scotoiller with LubeTube, Honda Tall Screen, Givi Crashbars, OEM Heated Grips, Fenda Extenda, Bar Risers, SSteel Spokes, Arrow Race-Tech DarkLine Exhaust, even bigger smile!!
