Re: Race School
Not done it myself but I was there on Sunday watching the World Super Bikes and if they can teach you to ride like they did then it will be money well spent. By the way not that your going sight seeing but the circuit is looking a bit scruffy at the moment due to the work being done for the F1 race next year, lets hope that they don't ruin the track by making too many changes.

Re: Race School
Well, back in one piece.
It was very hot, not problem with grip. First ,of 3 off, 15m sessions to get a feel for the bike and the track behind an instructor and another pupil, did Ok. Nowhere near as daunting as I expected, lots of tarmac, lots of grip. 2nd session, started moving around on the bike, making it easier to change direction, so a bit quicker, got out of sorts on a few corners. Over did the back straight and missed the braking point cone by a lot, so had to haul it up then potter thru the chicane. 3rd session - againa bit quick, byt by now the concentration was fading with the heat, 15mins is hard work. Did msot of the hairpins like a U turn from the bike test. Much more confident on way home..............but.......... Took a short cut (as advised by sat nav) off the A515 into Ashbourne, which meant crossing a small ford 6" deep. Halfway across I dropped the Transalp Summary - all lot money but good experience, would do a track day now.

Re: Race School
Well done and I'm glad you enjoyed it - provides a good taster
A good idea would be to try a California Superbike School day - I'm not on a retainer here It would go more in depth at the mechanics of riding, breaking down each component part of cornering etc - and you won't be using any brakes for the first 2 courses (braking on s3)- just learning the art of cornering both on line and off line i.e. when you over cook it into a corner how to recover without resorting to brakes and having a front end wash out Then you would be more confident on both road and trackdays but will benefit immensely in wet weather riding

Re: Race School
Glad you had a good time. We've done the school 3 times on blades and 600's and loved it. I'm going to try the Mick Boddice school at Darley Moor soon where you get a whole day and more track time for the same price. Very useful when you don't have a bike suited to track days.
