    Jacket recommendations

This is the most appropriate section I could find...

I'm going back to being an all weather rider this winter! And my current jacket is getting very tired.

What jackets are truly waterproof, hot when you want them to be (Removable inner would be nice), but well fitted and snug enough to stop drafts getting in?

My vote will always be for any ole textile jacket with a one or two-piece oversuit on top.

I've never yet had any jacket that didn't eventually start getting damp around the cuffs etc, and that's without it doubling in weight or the pain of trying to dry it overnight ready for the following days soaking.

Screw that, stick on the oversuit and also be amazed at the drop in windchill. The oversuit itself might get damp on the inside from condensation as they're not breathable but so what, they're easy to dry, they're cheap to replace if damaged, and the main jacket will be dry.

I second cbrpaddy, I ride 365 days a year and textile is much more verstaile than leathers in my opinion. wet leatherrs are heavy and take a long time to dry
I went with JTS mainly becouse they are cheaper and have my size....5xl....but I am sure investing a bit more can get u a decent top brand.

I have both Leathers and Textiles, the Textiles are better in the colder months if they have removable linings. With the over suit on top they stay nice and warm. Just get one that is slightly bigger than you need so you can add an extra jumper in the really cold times.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I agree with the oversuit route - the only trouble is if you are tall - they rarely fit tall people - wide and round they will fit but tall no!

bike show is usually a good place to check!
