    IAM Pass

Passed my IAM Advanced Test on Saturday!! At last... took my first observed ride back in June before redundancy and then 3 weeks round France got in the way.

Rained heavily that morning but it held off for the test itself... funny enough I had joked about prefering rain as it automatically reduces my speed and makes staying within the limits easier!!

Scored top marks on all areas with just one speed limit increase missed at a junction but noticed the repeaters immediately.

Recommend doing this to anyone, gave me a lot more confidence in my riding so I could concentrate on everything else.

Next up is the Rospa sometime next year, examiner also tests on these and reckons my ride was a Rospa Gold. Keep pushing for critisism so I can ensure im riding at my best.
TA700 2010 - Givi full set, Centre Stand, Scotoiller with LubeTube, Honda Tall Screen, Givi Crashbars, OEM Heated Grips, Fenda Extenda, Bar Risers, SSteel Spokes, Arrow Race-Tech DarkLine Exhaust, even bigger smile!!

TLD 2010 - 600 miles, 18 hours travelling, 4 hours sleep and no pint of guinness!! Must go back for that....

Shame we dont have anything equivalent over here. I'd like to be assessed and be able to go for something like that.

Congratulations on passing, does it make a difference on insurance premiums or just for peace of mind / confidence

Excellent - congratulations and welcome to the XRV sub section - "Smug Advanced Riders".

You have just done the best thing you could do to improve both your safety and enjoyment of motorcycles.

Your next step is to enrol for the evangalist course so that you can help all the other Smug sub section members to spread the word. !!!

Wee Jack - RoSPA Gold since 2001 (1 test, 2 re tests, and the next one due in 2010)
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

    Thumbs up Re: IAM Pass

    Well done mate..

Just like to say that I did a bikesafe course with the west midland police in March/April time 2009 and it was the best money ive spent.

You do some class work in the morning which includes road safety/road craft along with some video footage and top advice on rideing techniques e,t,c.

Then after lunch your of out on the bikes with the boys in blue who watch you like a hawk with regular stops to go over do's & dont's.

After that, you head back to base to have a breif on the day and at the end of the two day course you presented with a certificate .

All in all, a great way to improve your bikeing skills and methods and hopefuly make your rideouts safer and more enjoyable..

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
