Yo Ducati girl, what was the outcome? Are you and yr Mr. now regular sightings on the lanes of Derbyshire?
And out of interest (as I have a 5ft friend looking for a bike) how tall are you, given you were able to ride a Ducati?
1997 Jag 3.2 Exec (jangly jangly!); two bicycles; 2001 XL 650 V-1 which is ready for anything, cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter and just gets better and betterand a low mileage Pan European ST1100
Hi,
No luck with getting a bike as Mr. thinks the Serrow would be too small for him........I am willing to tip-toe a bit as long as I can pick the bike up again if I drop it so looking for something a bit bigger all round.
I am 5'6" tall and ride a standard 1998 600SS. I get plenty boot on the tarmac but manouvering to park etc is a bit slow and carefully done especially as the bike has the worst lock known to man! The sidestand is a pain too as it flicks up automatically as you stand the bike upright, but the bike is great (I have had it since new).
I seem to remember that the dealer said it was possible to adjust the supension to lower the seat, so if your lady is just 5' this be what she needs.
Cheers.
hi ducati girl
there are a few things you can do to lower a bike height like lower seats or dropping your forks slightly even your footwear can make a noticable difference.
i cant quite reach the ground properly if iwear my sidi race boots whilst on my transalp but when i wear me trail boots (spada) with a thicker sole everything is fine...
if you dont mind a 2stroke the gasgas 250 panza are low with plenty of go and can be had for your money![]()
Out of interest are the Chinese trail bike any good for the sub £1k bracket for trail riding or would they be too weak and fall apart?
Or could you use a Trials bike?
Since I fancy a lightweight bike for trail riding but can’t afford anything over £1k either.
