    Riding in this weather

Despite the freezing temperatures in Europe in Malta we still manage to ride our bikes during the Xmas holidays.

These photos were taken this morning. Temprature was 24 deg. Even in my summer mesh-tex riding gear it was quite warm.
You should all consider coming down to Malta on your Varas for the holidays.
    All the very best,
    Brian

Near perfect camouflage, it reminds me of when I bought a camouflage net got it home and never found it again. Amazing.

Malta is not the best place to ride / Drive as there is / was a nice bar on the coast road between Silema and Valleta which sells even type of Whisky there is.

    Re: Riding in this weather

Quite right, not much space to ride in over here. But hey, one can ride the Vara any time of year and enjoy a bit of riding and meeting friends over tea or coffee, or the whisky place as someone suggested (although not recommended), as I have been doing these hols. And there is no fear of being abducted by some muslim extremist like in the Philippines either.

Excellent weather for it while everywhere else its bloody freezing. Just waiting for the weather to settle down in Sicily and I'm off for the weekend for longer distance riding and the best food the Med can offer.

All the very best to everyone.

    Re: Riding in this weather

Riding's interesting now. Monday afternoon it was 7 degrees which was quite balmy after a week that saw -10, so went out on the bike and found that it drops to -1 once you're out of the city. That was an interesting 2 wheel slide on that ice patch with a fully laden GS with GF on the back. (Who incidentally was less bothered about nearly ending up in the ditch than I was.)

Yesterday I went out for shopping, and found rain on the way back. Yes I'll take it very very very very easy in the corners now thankyouverymuch, even if I do inconvenience a landrover or two...
